Mark McKenzie, Founder/CEO

Mark McKenzie, Founder of BrightHill Ventures, is a seasoned real estate investor and corporate finance professional with a proven track record in identifying and capitalizing on high-value opportunities. An Indiana native, Mark built the foundation for his career by earning an MBA from the Doermer School of Business in Fort Wayne.

He began his career in corporate finance in Chicago, where he developed a deep understanding of financial strategy and analysis. He later transitioned into C-Suite analytics consulting, gaining critical insights into executive decision-making and business operations. In 2017, following the birth of their first son, Mark and his wife, Rachel, relocated to Carmel, Indiana. Today, they are proud parents of three children.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the McKenzies saw opportunity where others saw uncertainty. They began acquiring and renovating distressed residential properties, leveraging market conditions to build a foundation in value-add real estate investing. As their expertise grew, they strategically scaled into commercial real estate, expanding their portfolio to include multifamily, industrial, warehouse, mixed-use, and development projects—focusing on properties with strong value-add potential and long-term growth opportunities.

Mark’s hands-on experience spans every facet of the real estate investment process. From personally overseeing renovations and construction management to navigating zoning, permits, and commercial development, he has gained invaluable, real-world expertise. His skills extend to underwriting, negotiating, and securing financing for multimillion-dollar acquisitions, giving him a holistic understanding of the industry—from the ground up.
